Have you ever felt like you really needed a vacation? You were tired from too much work or stressed about everything? Remember how wonderful it felt once you took that break and went away for a while. Well, just like we need a mental break from work and stress, our body also needs to rest, recuperate or “take a vacation” from certain foods. The holiday time, when many people eat and drink more than usual, can be an especially taxing time for our bodies. January and the start of a new year is a wonderful time to participate in a cleanse of some sort.
There are lots of different kinds of cleanses and each person is unique so needs to figure out what would works best for their body. For example, some people do great on a juice cleanse or fasting works really well. For me a gentle food based cleanse works best. Basically I eat very cleanly for a few weeks – lots of vegetables, some whole grains, protein and good fats, while eliminating sugar, dairy, processed foods and a few other things. For a couple years now I have been leading others in this type of cleanse, which I call Balanced Living Cleanse, with great results. Participants have found they have more energy, can think more clearly, often they loose weight, they learn about new foods, experiment in the kitchen, and become more aware of what works best for their body.
Give yourself the gifts of health and energy. Join us for this gentle cleansing program. The first call is on January 20th and the cleansing begins on January 27th. More information below and on the Maya Wellness website.
“I felt so much better after completing this cleanse. It wasn’t that hard, I found out a lot about my body, and gained some better eating habits and guidelines to carry forward post-cleanse and make part of my everyday life.” – Alexandra P.

“The weight loss, clearer skin and better mood are all great side effects. But I feel the best outcome of this program is feeling empowered to live a healthy life. All it takes is committing to yourself and utilizing the awesome tools that Maya provides in this program.” – A.R., Past Cleanse Participant
“The cleanse gave me a more integrated understanding of my body’s relationship with food. I now have a better set of resources for eating well! The support of the weekly conference calls means you always have comfortable, structured conversation about what you are accomplishing.” – A. G., Past Cleanse Participant
“(The cleanse) really made me think more carefully about what I put into my body on a regular basis – eating so little processed food made me realize how much I don’t know, or consider, about ingredients of foods. For example, how much sugar I consume is not just about how many cookies I eat.” – M. F., Past Cleanse Participant
